Washington Dulles International Airport's modernisation programme could expand into a $20B megaproject covering more than 5 million sq ft of terminals, concourses and passenger-processing facilities. Qualifications are already being sought for the first progressive design-build package.

Nemetschek pushes deeper into heavy civil and workflow AI

Nemetschek has completed its acquisition of heavy-civil software company HCSS and launched Bluebeam Max. The new Bluebeam offer focuses on practical preconstruction work including document analysis, quantity takeoff, quality control and information search.

The important move is not simply adding AI to another product. Nemetschek is extending its reach across the workflows contractors use every day, from heavy-civil operations to document-heavy preconstruction. The next test is integration. 04 · Transit Delivery

Toronto finishes the enabling work that unlocks capacity

Ontario has completed major upgrades at Bloor station, including 2.5 kilometres of new track, a pedestrian tunnel and a covered connection between the GO and UP Express platforms. The additional track is intended to support more future services on Toronto's Kitchener Line.

Liebherr accelerates the work behind autonomous machines

Liebherr France has installed a test rig that recreates vibrations, impacts, bending and torsional forces at 17 times normal operating speed. The tests are based on data gathered from customer machines working on real sites and will support the development of autonomous excavator functions.

This is a more useful autonomy signal than another controlled demonstration. Machines working with less supervision must survive the vibration, impacts and long duty cycles of real construction.
